Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced E-Commerce QA Tester to join our quality assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless performance, reliability, and user experience of our e-commerce platform. You will work closely with developers, designers, and project managers to test, troubleshoot, and validate the end-to-end e-commerce functionality, from product catalog to payment gateways. Your keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and dedication to quality will help us deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Conduct thorough testing of e-commerce features, including product listings, search functionality, shopping cart, checkout process, payment gateways, and post-purchase flows.Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and design comprehensive test plans and strategies.Perform manual and automated testing across multiple devices, platforms, and browsers to ensure consistent user experience.Identify, document, and report defects, inconsistencies, and potential performance issues in a clear and detailed manner.Develop and maintain test cases, test scripts, and automation frameworks to increase testing efficiency and coverage.Conduct regression testing to validate existing functionalities after new features are implemented or updates are released.Validate the integration of third-party services (e.g., payment processors, analytics) and troubleshoot any issues that arise.Monitor the system performance under various load conditions and escalate issues accordingly.Prepare comprehensive testing reports, including metrics and insights, to track the quality and progress of the platform.Actively participate in team meetings, project reviews, and quality improvement discussions.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Proficiency in manual testing and test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, or similar).Strong understanding of e-commerce workflows and user journey across online retail platforms.Experience with API testing and tools like Postman for testing e-commerce integrations.Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and knowledge of browser developer tools.Ability to write and execute SQL queries to validate data across the platform.Working knowledge of performance testing and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter).Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think analytically and critically.Strong verbal and written communication skills to document and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.
Qualification & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in QA testing, preferably in the e-commerce industry.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and continuous integration tools is highly desirable.
- ISTQB certification or similar is a plus.
